THe ENd Has FiNallY CoME

Okay, so like that was oodles of fun, well most, well alot, well some of it! Kidding. I did enjoy learning about all the CRAZY things that are out there in cyber space that can be very useful for the library and its patrons. I will most likely use many of the sites I explored and recomend them to others to use also. Back in college I never in my life thought I would actually be using a computer, yet alone doing all the nifty things wel can do today. I only hope that I can remember how to access all the sites when I think I need to use them. Onward and upward, pip pip! Or as Buzz Lightyear would say "to infinity and beyond!" But Woody would also add "that's not flying, that's falling with style!" which has nothing to do with anything............... I'm OUT suzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

technorati-WHY?

Okay, Blogging is something that I don't do too often but if I did and was interested in reading what millions of people had to say about millions of subjects I would be right on this sight! But I am not sooooo.............

De-wonderful, De-Cool,de there,de square!

Del.ric.ous is extremely helpful and I look forward to using it, the name is pretty stupid, but it really is a great tool for people who go from one computor to another for work or travel or on the run from the law.....................

Rollyo yo yo yo yo yo.....

Well that was fun, I created a rollypollyolly with 3 or 4 of my fav. websites of the baltimore O's history and it worked quite well. What a way cool idea to gather together things you use all the time.

Articles on Web 2.0

These articles were very similar in content and I realize that there is NO boundries to technology and I am sure that the libraries of the future will keep right up with the progress.

Downloadable audio books

Net/tech savvy people who love to read and KNOW how to find their way around these downloadable audio book sites these are great. The project Gutenburg was years ahead of its time obviously and a very COOl and clever idea and free to boot, unfortunately the titles I put in weren’t there, perhaps to ‘common’

Podcast search

I was able to get to the podcast search sites, but had no luck getting the podcast to run, my computer kept giving me messages that it needed something that my computer wouldn't put out!

YOU TUBE!

Okay, this is a crazy site and I wonder what nut thought of it? I searched for the old Allan Sherman 'hello muddah, hello faddah' song from when I was a kid because I couldn't remember all the words to it. I found it times 20! in many variations of video. I also searched by a key word and found some nutty stuff for quilters.

I chose to poke around Face book and did a search when what to my wondering eyes should appear, but a photo of my sweet darling daughter dear! There she was on face book, her face on face book! what ever will i see when i get to you tube?

Online tools

Wow would have thunk it? Google offers online tools for word processing so now I can work on papers here at work go home snag it out of cyber space at school and work on it some more. Flash drives who needs em?

WIKI!

Wow, what a clever thing these Wikis are! I have used Wikipedia for myself and my children for some time now. I looked at public library in Charlotte that uses one for training their library staff on computer skills.

LibraryThing

I had looked at this site back in March or April when I read about it in a magazine, it is a cool site, I added just a few tittles that I have been reading lately. I think this is a great site if you have time to read and sit on your butt in front of the computer.

Online image generator

Created a really cool ticket for a party at my house, but had a bit of a technical problem so I won't be able to have tha huge kegger I was going to invite each and everyone of you to.

Merlin and Lib blogs

Explored Merlin and went searching for library blogs, found an interesting one about the definition of picture books.

Bloglines acct.

Set up my blogline newsreader account and was a bit disappointed that baseball was not among the popular choice (perhaps because of NFL?)

Sports Legends Museum virtual tour

Took a bit of a trip through the Sports Legends Museum website, the virtual tour was very cool with floor maps that you can put your mouse on it shows pictures of the room displays. Very useful site if you happen to be going to B-more for a visit and want to see some cool museums.

Flickr fun

I poked around flickr for a bit, downloaded some pix, my sun who looks the BEST in his uniform#87, nd of course the pic with my 'boyfriend' and I up in Cooperstown back in July. I like that you can download your pix to a web site and do things with them. Although I do prefer to use a picture organizer called Snapfish, I have used that alot. The flickr site was a bit frustrating, it wouldn't bring up some of the fancy tools to try out.
